I have lived in J malden over six months. I really enjoy living here. They have very clean and cozy public area on the 2nd floor. There is outdoor pool, outdoor grills area, indoor table tennis etc. And the management staff are very friendly and informative especially Michael who is very helpful and likes to organize parties for the residents. I would like to rate a 5 star for this place.
Update: High pitch sound (24/7 alarm) issue resolved!
Thank you Kathryn (J Malden community manager), for taking an action and contacting the building manager at 200 Exchange St. to fix their rooftop generator that was causing the non-stop high pitch noise. The sound has finally stopped and now we can WFH, sleep and live in peace.

High pitch sound (alarm) that goes on 24/7!
We just moved into a really nice apartment unit facing Exchange street. HOWEVER, after moving in we noticed a constant high pitch sound (non-stop, day and night!) coming from the building in front the apartment complex. Apparently this "sound" has been going on for a while now, and many neighbors facing the same street have complained. The apartment management said that they cannot do anything about it as it's not caused by J Malden Center ... But it's painful hearing that sound non-stop (specially if you work from home ...). We installed curtains to no avail. Management needs to step up because this sound is affecting our health!
DO NOT MOVE IN to a unit facing Exchange street! (not sure if other units hear it too). This sound is nothing like construction or train sounds (typical city sounds)... It's much worse because it never stops! And it gets even louder at random times.
I'll be happy to change this review if the sound stops, as for now I don't recommend anyone to move in!
One of the worst Apt I have ever lived in… Used to live in 30 Dalton, One Greenway and their management team is amazing. But here, filled with irresponsibilities.
1. New key is 100$ as the second time their management team told me. However, the first time I went to the office, I was informed the keys need 150$. Their management team does not even know their own apartment! Also, key replacement is much lower if u live in a luxury apartment or the other apartment.
2. They push u to pay for the key replacement or they won’t help you to open the gym door (has exceptions before). They repeatedly run out of my patience.
3. The toilet is broken since the first day we came in. Their maintenance team came by twice, no problem fixed.
5. The elevator on the north building hasn’t been fixed for 2-3 months.
6. The carpet in the room is a disaster and the video was shot on the first day of moving in. And they charge us for the carpet damage fee after we moving out. This is unacceptable!!! We will ask for the refund for this!
I have lived here for 1.5 years. And I would still recommend this apartment to my friends. And some of them are now the new tenants in J Malden.
I still remember when I came alone to work in Boston, it was the management lady who found me and helped me with moving in when I was lost in the garage. Whenever I am confused where to find my package, I just drop by and people in the leasing office are always willing to help. Yes. Boston is famous for its high rent. But J Malden is relatively affordable with all its utility, great location (10 minutes to Asian supermarket 88 and 3 minutes to Stop and Shop, 15 minutes around you could find great restaurants and milk tea nearby). It is the newest around the place and it is always clean and smells good in the shared area. It might also has some shared problems where other apartments have. But overall our friends admitted that it is still a place good for our working people.
wonderful, quite nice building . managment very freindly. apartments well instructured. like the ameti spaces. location is good it's near the station
I work here in the Maintenance Department and when I tell you, teamwork, professionalisem, and its headed in an even better direction. Malden has changed, and for the better.
Got charged LOTS OF carpet replacement fee when moving out. They are unbelievable. My roommate and I never brought food to bedrooms, everything was within scope of normal use. …
Echo many of the bad reviews:
Management is unprofessional and extremely unresponsive. Maintenance and …
